Why Ultima?

With the explosive growth in the use of the Internet as a means of communication and 'route to market', the need for ever-increasing levels of infrastructure security and availability have placed increasingly complicated and time consuming demands on corporate IT departments. BS 7799 Accreditation

The most important endorsement of the quality of our managed services is our BS 7799 accreditation. Ultima's Information Security Management System has been approved by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance to BS7799-Part 2:2002. It is applicable to the information security management of the provision of managed services that monitor and maintain servers, firewalls and VPNs (statement of applicability, issue no.2). The approval certificate, issued on 19 December 2003 is number LRQ 4000862. For customers looking to outsource aspects of their IT system's security, BS 7799 accreditation will reassure senior company executives (to board level) that Ultima will provide the managed services they can rely on to protect their IT infrastructure.

Managed services are delivered from Ultima's purpose-built Network Operation Centre which is manned 24x7 by a team of security experts who are trained and experienced in managing firewalls, servers, and VPN nodes. The emphasis of our service is on pro-activity, i.e. spotting problems before they occur and implementing a solution before system performance is affected. Many organisations cannot afford to provide 24x7 management using their own IT team and in many cases any system 'down time' - at any time of the day - is simple unacceptable.
