Warehousing and Logistics

A common problem for organisations is the lack of space for holding IT equipment. This becomes extenuated when a large project such as a desktop replacement project commences. Ultima has over 50,000sq feet of secure warehousing available for customers at our offices in Reading that can be used as staging space for projects. Stock can be held within virtual ‘customer warehouses’ and our ‘Interact’ extranet system will enable you to view your stock on line, and in real-time

All equipment whether being shipped directly or being passed through our Configuration Centre passes through our Warehouse and Logistic centre. Utilising our trusted logistics partners and our own transport vehicles, Ultima is able to guarantee that orders placed before 3.30PM will be dispatched that day for a next day delivery in the UK. Whether it is a single item or large consignment, Ultima will ensure your equipment is handled correctly and delivered on-time anywhere in the world.

Ultima also has the benefit of an additional physical warehouse that is dedicated to disposals and refurbishment. This enables us to physical segregate new customer stock from returns and disposal items.

Configuration Services

Ultima has invested in a 5,000 sq feet, fully ESD compliant Configuration Centre that is linked to our primary Warehouse and Logistics facility. Utilising our Configuration Centre ensures that every product that leaves our building has been thoroughly tested and configured to your requirements. The facility can offer the following services and functionality to our customers:

Full Asset Tracking - Our Configuration Centre will, along with our warehouse, track all assets which pass through the facility until it arrives at your site.
Secure and Controlled Environment – Our Configuration Centre provides a dedicated location which is both secure and controlled for more sensitive builds or deployments.
Custom Desktop and Server Builds - We can work with you to develop and maintain both your desktop and server builds, ensuring any systems are shipped to you with the latest build version. We also have established processes to make sure that all new builds are tested before they are released.
DOA Testing – Our Configuration Engineers will make sure all systems are DOA tested before shipment so you can be assured equipment is working as soon as it arrives.
Asset Refurbishment – An additional complementary service that can be offered is refurbishment for devices being returned, often as part of a refresh project. This may involve hardware or software upgrades before being re-configured, or refurbishment in preparation for disposal, either destruction or resale.
