In the world of mobile computing and remote access, server-based computing reduces the amount of processing carried out on the end user device, thus enabling simple devices to efficiently access applications such as email, databases and CRM systems across a wireless connection. Another scenario when a server-based computing solution is ideal is where an organisation wants to make use of legacy devices such as desktop PCs.
